Brief portrait of the firm (k-tec GmbH)The core competence of k-tec GmbH is the processing and reforming of flat plastic sheets with the most differing methods of thermoforming technology, and all types of Plexiglas processing. The firm’s exceptional specialisation lies in the reforming of transparent and semitransparent plastics (e.g. Plexiglas and polycarbonate) for optically high-quality building parts of two- and three-dimensional variants. Plug-and-ring- and vacuum forming of coloured sheets are techniques that the enterprise also masters to a high industrial standard. The firm’s own development department, CAD CAM technologies with five-axle industrial milling robots (up to 14 x 4 x 2 meters), CNC plug-and-ring forming machines, presses, extra-large heating furnaces and our own mould-making plant make the enterprise a flexible for resolving problems with quick solutions to unconventional challenges. With a size up to 13 x 2 meters, we produce the world's largest vacuum thermoformed parts. Together with plastic facade construction, the products find use in glazing for cable-railway cabins and chairlifts, for cladding tool-making machines and technical devices in almost every industrial branch. Bodywork parts and interior cladding for commercial vehicles in small- and medium-size series, for special glazing in the automotive industry, but also cladding parts for medical devices are another small sector in the broad spectrum of products produced by this medium-size business in Salzburg.
